1. Information we collect
To prepare and e-file your returns we collect information you provide directly, including your name, contact details, and sensitive tax information such as Social Security Number or ITIN, visa/immigration status, date of birth, marital status, dependents, residency history, income, and the tax documents you upload (e.g. W-2s, 1099s, bank and brokerage statements).
We also collect limited technical data automatically, such as device and browser information and basic usage analytics, to operate and secure the site.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to determine your residency and filing situation, prepare and e-file your federal and state returns, apply for or renew an ITIN, complete FBAR/FATCA and treaty filings, communicate with you about your filing, and meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. How we share information
We share information only as needed to deliver the service: with tax authorities (such as the IRS and state agencies) to file your returns, with service providers who help us operate (secure cloud hosting and storage, email/SMS delivery), and where required by law. Any providers are bound to protect your information and use it only for these purposes.
4. How we protect your information
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of tax data, including encrypted transmission, access controls, and secure document storage. Your account is protected by verification (including one-time passcodes). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and continually improve our safeguards.
5. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as needed to provide the service, to comply with tax record-keeping and legal requirements, and to resolve disputes. When no longer required, we securely delete or de-identify it.
6. Your choices and rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to legal record-keeping obligations, by contacting us. You can also opt out of non-essential communications at any time.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies to run the site and may use limited analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
8. Children
Our services are intended for adults filing tax returns. We only collect information about dependents (including minors) as part of an adult client's return.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above, and where appropriate we will notify you.
